Pesto presto: see our ready to go pesto

For a last-minute storecupboard meal, whether stumbling in late from work, holidays or the pub, you can’t beat a ready-made jar of pesto on pasta. When you have neither the time nor the inclination to make your own pesto, try one of these four jars from Naturally Good Food (click here to see the full range):

  • Sacla Classic organic green pesto: Sacla is a well-known name in pesto. Here we stock their organic variety, which has a great depth of flavour. It keeps well in the fridge, with a little extra oil added if necessary.

Meridian Pesto,Great on pasta – and lots of other dishes.

  • Gluten-free and dairy-free pesto from Meridian: if you need a gluten-free sauce for your gluten-free pasta, or are avoiding dairy produce, then this versatile mix from Meridian is just the thing. It’s made from ground basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil.
  • Vegan mixed nut pesto from Zest: made with fresh basil leaves and mixed nuts (brazils, cashew, hazelnuts), with some delicious natural seasonings. It’s vegan and gluten-free, healthy and delicious!
  • Vegetarian pesto from Zest: made with vegetarian cheese, fresh basil and pine nuts, this has all the authentic taste of a ‘normal’ pesto, but is both vegetarian and gluten-free. It’s got a slightly coarser texture than most pestos, meaning that it’s rather like a home-made sauce, but without all the hassle!

Remember: pesto isn’t just for pasta.

You can stir it into cooked rice, use it as part of a salad dressing, apply it instead of mayonnaise or butter on a sandwich, spoon it into a sauce or soup to give greater flavour, or even simply use it as a dip. (or even eat it straigh outof th ejar if no one is looking..)
