Three-ingredient recipes from Naturally Good Food

Let’s make things easy! Here are three recipes, using just three ingredients, all available from Naturally Good Food. They make one starter, one main course and one dessert.

Omne trium perfectum: everything that comes in threes is perfect!

Starter: grilled flat bread with thyme

Ingredients: pitta bread, extra-virgin olive oil, dried thyme

Method: toast the pitta bread, then cut into strips. Brush with oil and sprinkle with dried thyme. Grill till a little singed and aromatic.

Cheat: if you had to add something: a pinch of sea-salt wouldn’t go amiss. You could, of course, vary the oil for any one of our outstanding selection of oils. The herbs can also be varied or mixed – or try black pepper or furikake sesame seasoning mix.

Main course: fishy mixed bean bake

Ingredients: tin of Biona mixed beans, tin Fish4ever fish of your choice (anchovies or tuna would work well), tin organic tomatoes

Method: mix all together and bake in the oven.

Cheat: tinned beans, fish and tomato are relatively well-salted, but you may like to add an extra pinch of sea-salt or grinding of black pepper. Some grated cheese and breadcrumbs on the top would be a nice addition too. As of course, would a fresh green salad on the side.

Dessert: chocolate coconut cream ice-cream

Ingredients: 1 tin coconut milk, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 2 tbsp honey

Method: combine all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy, then freeze.

Cheat: to make it extra chocolate-y, you could use chocolate coconut milk. Some chopped or flaked nuts would be a nice addition – or have it with some of our lovely dried fruit: perhaps something tropical, like dried mango?

Looking for something to finish with? Sticking to our theme, why not try one of these trio-themed teas?
