Do you care? Then you need If You Care!

It’s a small brand on our shelves – but it’s one of our mightiest. It’s If You Care, a range of environmentally friendly kitchen and household products. It’s steadily moving into the limelight, as people look at reducing their waste (particularly plastic waste). The brand forms part of our selection of planet-friendly and natural household goods.
Here’s what If You Care have to say about themselves:
‘Our mission has always been to create the most environmentally friendly kitchen and household products, providing you and your family with high quality and highly effective alternatives. And to that end we are proud to offer a full line of products that are not only good for the environment, but good for your cooking and household needs as well.’
Starting small, with a line of unbleached coffee filters, the brand gradually spread out into recyclable aluminium foil and waxed paper. It then expanded enormously, producing a whole range of goods, including carbon-neutral firelighters, paper sandwich bags, sponge cloths and paper towels.
The company’s overall aim is, refreshingly, to disappear:
‘If possible, nothing should remain after the product has been used and properly disposed of. The packaging is made from unbleached recycled cardboard or paper which should be recycled again.’
Put simply, If You Care are about a decade ahead of the rest of us in the zero-waste game.
What we stock
Here’s what we currently stock from If You Care.
- Recycled aluminium foil and heavy-duty aluminium foil
- Unbleached baking cups, baking sheets and baking parchment
- Coffee filters (small)
- Compostable food waste bags and kitchen bin bags– making it easy (and not so messy) to get rid of food waste
- Non-toxic firelighters
- Paper sandwich and snack bags – a great option for those looking to move on from plastic food bags
- 100% natural sponge cloths
These are the ‘little’ swaps – and they’re easy to make. They’re a small step towards redressing the plastic/waste balance in your own home. And they send a clear message to the manufacturers and producers of plastic packaging that like many other people in the UK today, you’re looking for a real alternative.
