As well as all the wonderful foods you’d expect us to stock, we have shelves full of organic and natural toiletries, including a fabulous range of natural, cruelty-free toothpastes!

Smile - with our natural toothpastes!

Our two big names in toothpastes are Kingfisher and Green People. What makes their toothpastes stand out?

Kingfisher toothpastes

Kingfisher started up in 1988, when its founder realised there was a gap in the market for people who wanted natural toothpaste – that is, toothpaste that doesn’t rely on artificial colourings, flavourings, sweeteners and preservatives. The company experimented with various flavours, using only natural ingredients, such as real fennel, strawberries and peppermint. They made sure to use no animal ingredients whatsoever, making their toothpastes wholly vegan, and have never used animal testing. Approved by the British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF), their toothpastes are gluten-free, GM-free and taste delicious!

From Kingfisher, we have the following toothpastes:

Green People toothpaste

Green People set the standards, quite literally, on natural bodycare, sitting on the Soil Association’s committee on organic health and beauty products. They never use ‘aggressive’ ingredients or synthetic chemicals, fragrances or colourants, and do not test on animals. Their toothpastes are all free from aluminium, hydrocarbons, SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and triclosan: instead, they’re made with organic essential oils, Vitamin C and myrrh, which protect the mouth from bacterial growth naturally. The toothpastes are gluten-free, made without microbeads and are designed to be suitable for sensitive gums. Many are free from fluoride too, giving you a choice in that area. They’re completely safe if swallowed (indeed, they’re good enough to eat!), which is particularly important, of course, in their bestselling children’s range of toothpastes, specially designed for brushing milk teeth and gums. All of their toothpastes protect your gums, remove plaque and reduce bacterial regrowth, entirely naturally.

From Green People we have the following toothpastes:

Mouthwash, too!

We also have organic mouthwash from Organii, in two flavours: Aloe and Citrus and Aloe and Eucalyptus. Unlike commercial mouthwashes – which are pretty much nothing but chemicals, and often smell and taste that way too – these organic mouthwashes are made only with natural ingredients. They’re designed to be used just like standard mouthwashes, after brushing or flossing, to remove any stubborn food particles or plaque. Their fresh taste then helps to keep your breath fresh.

Both of the mouthwash varieties are based on aloe vera, which has natural antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, helping to protect teeth and gums. The citrus mouthwash derives its taste from organic lemon, orange and grapefruit essential oils, while the eucalyptus one has a bright, clean, refreshing flavour. Neither should be used by children under six years old.

So – smile! Take a look at our range of toothpastes and mouthwashes, stock up, and then – open wide, and crack us a grin!
